Become a Referee

All of the referees utilized by the Jaguars United Soccer club are sub contracted and currently USSF certified.

Becoming a USSF certified referee is simple, you need to obtain your background clearances, attend and successfully complete a referee training program.

The Grade 8 (not high school grade) Basic Referee Program requires you to be 14 years old or older, on or before the start date of the clinic. This requirement exists due to the Commonwealth of PA’s Child Labor Laws.

Playing experience is desired, but not required.

At Jaguars United, we are always looking for additional referees.  Please be aware that any referee working as a Center must be at least two years older than those he/she is officiating.

More up to date information is located in the State Referee Committee of Western Pennsylvania.

Questions or concerns about becoming a certified referee should be addressed to the club's referee coordinator, Glenn Bertha at glenn.bertha@jaguarsunited.com
