Player Safety
Nothing is more important than the safety of our players.  It is for this reason that our members or any outside trainers and referees, who work directly with the players are required to undergo, and keep current, all clearances currently required by the State of Pennsylvania including but not limited to a PA State Police Criminal Record Check and a PA Child Abuse History Clearance.

Jaguars United Soccer Association strongly recommends having an impact or baseline test done in the event a head injury should occur.  The cost for this test is minimal (around $30) and can be performed by local professionals.  There are also seasonal opportunities to have this testing done free of charge.

Proper hydration is a very important part of our injury prevention program.  All coaches are instructed to provide ample breaks during practice/game sessions to ensure players stay properly hydrated.

Stretching both before and after a practice/game is strongly encouraged as another step to help prevent injuries.  All coaches are instructed to illustrate and leave time for some stretching exercises.

Field safety is critical in keeping our players safer.  Coaches and referees are instructed to inspect a field prior to its use to ensure it is safe.  This includes ensuring that all goals are properly anchored whether or not they will be used as part of the practice or game.  Parents can also help to ensure our fields are safe.  Just ask your coach how you can help.

Proper behavior by all coaches, players, official and all spectators is also required to help keep everybody safe.  During a game, the referee is the ultimate authority.  While players and coaches are responsible for their own behavior, coaches are also held responsible for inappropriate behavior from their spectators.  Please help protect our players and referees by always acting in the spirit of the game and showing positive behavior on the field as well as on both sides of it.
