Jaguars United Refee Compensation Plan 2017

As approved by a unanimous vote at the Board Meeting of April 10, 2017, Jaguars United will implement the following Referee Compensation Plan over the course of the 2017 season.

Bonus Program:

  • Jaguars United currently offers a $100 “bonus” payment to any referee who has worked 3 or more games over the course of a season.  This payment has traditionally been paid out at the end of the calendar year as opposed to the end of the Travel Season (Fall to Spring).
  • The Bonus Program will be discontinued as of July 4th, 2017.
  • Jaguars United will honor this program, but with a final bonus payment being issued after the completion of the 2017 Spring season as opposed to the end of the 2016 Fall season.  Any referee who qualifies for this bonus payment can request it in writing between June 4th, 2017 and July 4th, 2017.
  • To request payment of under this plan, referees must send a written request to Darren Savikas (darren.savikas@gmail.com).  The written request should include an accurate mailing address, as all approved bonus payments will be issued via mail.  Darren will then submit the Bonus Payment Request Form to the Executive Board for final approval by July 4th, 2017.
  • Requests for the Bonus Program made after July 4th, 2017 will not be considered.

Compensation scale:

  • The Board has approved a new compensation scale effective September 1st, 2017.  This scale will mirror the referee compensation received when working a Cup or Classic game.  This compensation plan will establish Jaguars United as the premier Travel Club in PA West with respect to referee compensation. This change is designed to encourage the development and advancement of the referees within the Jaguars United referee program.
  •  Additionally, this new scale will enable to the Club to have a more clear understanding of its annual finances while providing compensation that will be the gold-standard for Travel clubs.

Rates effective as of September 1st, 2017

Other notable changes:

  • The Referee Assignor and the Field Safety and Referee Communication Coordinator will be notified via e-mail and text within 90 minutes of any cancelled games.  The Assignor and Communication Coordinator will immediately respond to confirm receipt of such e-mail or text.  If proper notification is not provided within 90 minutes of the start of a scheduled game, the referees will be paid in full.
  • If less than the designated number of referees appear for a scheduled game, they will be compensated based on their designated rate as noted above.  The remaining referee fees for that game will be returned to the Treasurer by the Jaguars United head coach.
