Travel Program

Travel soccer with the Jaguars United Soccer Association's is an inter-club recreational program. Teams participate against teams from other clubs within PA-West's South District (District 4). 

All age appropriate children wishing to participate in our travel soccer program must participate in one of our evaluation sessions.  These annual sessions are held at the end of each spring session.  These sessions are not try outs, but rather an aid in team formation under certain circumstances such as roster size limits. 

Evaluation Criteria

Evaluation sessions help to determine a players’ readiness both physical and mental, to participate in travel soccer.  Some of the areas looked at during the sessions include but are not limited to: ball control, passing, shooting, heading, game sense, positional play, etc.  

Those wishing to play travel soccer must provide the following information at the evaluation sessions or as part of their online registration.

-Copy of your birth certificate
-Upload a photograph of the player when registering on line.
-Play up waiver if required

Individual evaluation results are confidential and are not made public. Coaching staff does not have access to evaluation results.

Attendance at an evaluation session does not guarantee placement on a travel soccer team. 

Team Formation

All players who have participated in an evaluation session will be notified of team placement, either travel or in house if necessary.

We strive to provide every child wishing to play travel soccer the opportunity to do so.  However, certain circumstances such as roster size limits can prevent this. Therefore, if your child is not placed on a travel team, we will automatically switch your registration to our in house program and refund the cost difference.

In-House & Travel Participation

Travel players may take part of the In-House Program for Under-10/12 (Co-Ed league). There is a nominal fee of $15 that will be added to the travel registration at the time of checkout. In addition to the travel commitment, the in-house program allows one practice per week and 8 in-house games.

Travel Season

The travel soccer season includes the fall, winter (training only) and spring sessions.  Selected players choosing to not participate in the fall session, are not guaranteed a roster spot in the spring.

In general, practices are held once or twice a week. All travel games are typically scheduled on Sundays from about Noon through 5:00 P.M. and they are held within the South Hills area (usually under 1 hour drive).  There are 7 to 8 games per session (4 away and 4 home).

Travel Divisions

While the majority of our teams play at the Division 6 or Division 5 level, we do have some travel teams participating in Division 4, which is deemed competitive and may include travel anywhere within the PA West jurisdiction including Erie, State College and West Virginia. Division 4 is the highest level of boys and girls soccer available to travel teams from community clubs. Depending on the pool of players, the Jaguars United board may approve competition in this league for some of our teams. Unlike Division 5 & 6 where travel is administered by District 4 (South), Division 4 is considered a competitive inter-district program organized by a PA West elected Director. Leagues are by age with the best teams playing each other. This division could feature statewide travel.


PA West Soccer's Youth Division features six geographic districts. Each district has its own director who is elected by that district's club Presidents to oversee the operation of the district. Jaguars United belongs to the South Districts (District 4).
